VACHERON CONSTANTIN AND HIS MOST COMPLEX WORK

In the exclusive world of Haute Horlogerie, there are creations that are admired with admiration and others that redefine the very meaning of watchmaking mastery. Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication – La Première undoubtedly belongs to the latter category. With 41 complications combined in a single caliber, this unique piece is not merely a technical record: it is the tangible manifestation of 270 years of Vacheron Constantin excellence.

The new Caliber 3655 is a marvel of miniaturization and mechanical architecture, the result of eight years of development and 13 patent applications. Despite housing 1,521 components, it maintains impeccable proportions: 45 mm in diameter and just 14.99 mm thick. Its repertoire of functions is as extensive as it is fascinating: triple time display—civil, solar, and sidereal—five rare astronomical complications (including a world first), a perpetual Gregorian calendar, moon phases with centenary precision, and a Westminster minute repeater whose sound evokes a cathedral chime.

The visual experience is equally masterful. The front dial displays contrasts and textures that optimize legibility, while the back reveals a real-time celestial chart, traversed by a split-seconds chronograph capable of calculating the precise moment a star will appear in the sky. Every detail—from the mirror polish to the circular satin finish—has been executed by hand, making the movement a kinetic spectacle that only the most exclusive Haute Horlogerie can offer.

In a sector where complexity often compromises aesthetic harmony, the Solaria demonstrates that the two can coexist in perfect harmony. It's more than a watch: it's a mechanical work of art, a declaration of technical supremacy, and a living tribute to the Maison's spirit: "Doing the best you can, and that's always possible."
